We're laying low for now
But we're ready to pounce!!

The calm before the storm

Hiya! Well, fans, it’s time once again for our weekly pow-wow. I hope this blog
finds you well. Anyways, we had a very successful gig this past Wednesday at
Tasty World! In order to start creating a buzz for our upcoming album, we played
nothing other than our very own originals. We were delighted to find that our
adoring fans loved the show! Many thanks go out to our friends and fans that
came!

And on that note, I have some sad but uplifting news. We’ve discovered that it’s
very hard to plan an album and practice for gigs at the same time, so we’re gonna
lay low for the month of October. We won’t be making many public appearances
so that we’ll have more time to write and plan and record. The uplifting part is that
the album will be coming out that much sooner! We’ve still got a ways to go, but
we’ve almost got the entire album written and arranged the way we like it. I’d say
we’re about 80% done writing the album, which means that when we hit the
studio, things will move along quickly. And don’t worry; many of your favorite RoJo
originals will appear on the first album!

Oh yes! I almost forgot. We’ve updated our MySpace page (finally!) so if you’re a
MySpace kinda guy or gal, go check it out! Well, that’s it for me you wild hipsters.
Get out there and go watch a good rock show somewhere this week!

                ...It's raining again...

Forecast for Saturday: Rock

Hello to all you out there! It’s a little rainy over here in Hartwell, and it’s a lazy day
to be sure. Saturday, however, will not be lazy at all. It will be rocking! The Ron
Jonsons have been invited to play at Anthem in Toccoa, Ga. It’s an “all ages”
venue and we can’t wait to put on a great show for you guys! Check our website
for show details.

We’ve spent the last several weeks practicing, writing, and rearranging several
Ron Jonsons originals to get them ready to put on an album. The good news is,
we’re very close to completing that process. The bad news is, in looking for
studios to record, we’re slowly realizing that we won’t be in control of when the
album is finished. Many studios that we’re looking at are already booked for a
couple of months and we can’t be sure how long the recording process will take
until we choose a studio and get to work. The other reason it might take longer
than expected is that we might need to scrounge up some dough first. I previously
said that we’d be done by the end of the year. That’s entirely possible, but it’s not
a definite yet. We’ll let you know how our progress goes, so stick with us! You’ll
be able to get The Ron Jonsons’ first official album before too long!

That’s it for me. I’m going to go back to watching the rain…

                 Um, yes please...

Album writing nearly done…two brand new songs!!

“Anthem”, and I must say it was very awesome. It was a swank little juke joint in
the middle of downtown Toccoa and I think it has some amazing potential!
Everybody in Toccoa should definitely go check it out! Often! Go there every night
they have a show!

Well, ladies and gents, the rumors are true. The Ron Jonsons are going to give
birth…to their very first album.

We’re still sending out e-mails to recording studios and we’re still waiting to hear
back from some of them, but we’re almost done on our end. The album is now
about 93% written! That’d be an A if it were a test. We had a couple of blank a
catchy jam song, but it’s been tastefully done in true Ron Jonsons style. The We’

in November…perhaps you’ll get to hear the new songs there.

Alright guys and gals, you all have a splendid week, and we’ll see you soon!

but MAJOR props to whoever did!

Oh, hi there! You startled me! I didn’t see you come in. Well, since you’re here,
let’s blog.

Sorry the blog is a day late, but I was quite busy yesterday. But enough excuses.
It’s been a good week for The Ron Jonsons. We had a lively and inspiring
conversation on the soul of music. After all, music is a language on its own that is
able to transcend the barriers of language and culture. We began asking
ourselves how we can play our instruments to bleed out as much emotion as
possible. We discussed how the tone of the sound as well as any effects layered
on that tone can differently affect which emotion is expressed. We looked at how
different rhythms can affect how a song is perceived. It was deep, and we only
scratched the surface.

We also took a full day practice to continue working on the album. We’ve begun
finalizing all the songs. By that, I mean we’re beginning to put ‘The Ron Jonsons
stamp of approval” on songs and saying that they’re ready to be recorded. So this
is it, fans. If there’s an extra special song of ours or a favorite part of ours that
you want to hear on the album, speak now or forever hold your peace. As far as
studios, I believe Spence will be touring one this week. Every practice we have
puts us a good step closer to finishing this thing. We’re getting ready to put ‘The
Ron Jonsons’ on the map. Of course, we’ll need you guys to help us. Spread the
word! Buy the album when it comes out! Come out and see our shows! If you do,
we’ll hug you!

Oh, and one more thing…
…Happy Halloween,
