Here's a sample of some graphic
designs we're looking at.
Exciting, isn't it?
Well, first off, let me say Disney World was a blast. I saw a mouse, a big castle,
and a really big ball. Now, it’s back to the music business.
Honestly, since I’ve been out of town, I’m not really sure what the rest of the boys
are up to. I know Spence and Butts had a lovely dinner together where they
thought up some new covers for us to learn for future shows.
As far as recording goes, Spence and Austin are still poking their heads in here
and there to lay down some tracks. Last I heard, Austin will be able to wrap up his
parts in one more sitting and Spence is over halfway through recording himself.
Then we’ll do vocals, then we’ll finalize the whole thing, and then…well, we’ll
probably have to go get it mastered somewhere. Keep your fingers crossed that
we’ll get this out by the end of January. I promise you guys we’ve been going in
and out of the studio almost every week since December, but we’re learning that
the recording process takes a delicate touch and lots of studio time.
I have heard a nearly completed instrumental version of one of our songs and it
sounds REALLY good, so I think you guys are going to be very pleased with this
album. I’m also pulling in some resources to help with graphic design and
pictures for the CD insert. We’re gonna make sure you guys get the full deal. Not
just a CD written on with a sharpie and stuffed into a paper sleeve. Oh no. We’re
gonna try to get you guys a cellophane wrapped CD Case with professional liner
notes. So stay tuned. It’s gonna be great!

Here's an idea of what
we're looking for.
Dearest Ron Nation,
Last week was a slow week for the Ron Jonsons, but as Butts and I would say,
we’ve made par for this course. This week has been a busy week for us, which
isn’t a bad thing at all.
First off, here’s an update on the album. Ladies and gents, I hold in my hand today,
an instrumental version of the entire album. That means that all that’s left is to
record the vocal tracks and do some final mixing, editing, and mastering and the
CD will be DONE! HUZZAH! I think more people should say “huzzah” more often.
But I digress.
I’ve also updated the webpage a little. Our Electronic Press Kit is now available in
PDF form so our fans and potential venues can download it (emphasis on the
potential venues (wink))!! Also, the “FREE STUFF!” tab has been replaced with the
“Merchandise” tab. Don’t worry, the free stuff is still there, I’ve just added a pic of
our T-shirts that are available (soon to be available online).
Lastly, Spence and I have been busy. We’ve been doing lots of gig shopping. We’
re trying to put together a little tour going up and down I-85 from Atlanta all the
way up to Greenville! We’ve started the process of trying to get these gigs, and I
tell you, the number one thing that all these venues want is the assurance that
people will come. So, Ron Nation, don’t make us rock this tour for nothing! We
want to see some screaming, jumping, rockin’ heads out there in the crowd!
We’re shooting to schedule this thing during March and April, but we’ll let you
know as the time draws nearer.
That’s it for this week, Ron Fans! Go practice your screaming, jumping, and
rocking!

My first PhotoShop picture!!
I'll get better...
Well, Ron Fans, you heard correctly. I now have PhotoShop and am now able to
unleash the insanity that goes with it. Right now, my skills are limited to taking
things and putting them on top of other things. Speaking of PhotoShop, did I ever
tell you guys about the time Austin and I played the Eiffel Tower? There were
many people and one brontosaurus in attendance. The brontosaurus would have
been cooler, but he was THAT GUY that kept screaming “Freebird!” the whole
time. But anyway, moving along…
(By the way, if you’re reading this from MySpace, go to www.theronjonsons.com
to see the picture that accompanies that joke)
And now for your recording update: We’re still doing it. We’re going in to record
vocals on Monday. We MIGHT be able to knock it all out then, but I doubt it. It’ll
probably be a few more sessions before we finish the vocals. By the way, that
blows my “end of January” predicted release date out of the water, so from now
on, I will stop predicting the release date for this album. It’s coming out soon. It
will be amazing. What we have so far sounds superb. That’s all I can say for now.
Oh, by the way, the brontosaurus is one of our biggest fans now. We call him the
Ron-tosaurus.
Have a great week!

So long, suckers!
Well, there haven’t been any gigs this week, but we’ve arranged a show with The
Conditionals on Feb. 10th that we’re very much looking forward to. They’re a
blues/jazz/rock band out of Atlanta and they seem like a bunch of cool dudes.
Also, Spence and Austin went back in to the studio last night for some late night
recording. We did have a sweet full-band practice on Monday in Athens where we
jammed to start coming up with ideas for the second album. That’s right; we’re
already brainstorming up cool things to write for the second album. It was really
cool, though, cause that was the first time that the four of us got together and
played in a long while!
Well, I’ve got to wrap thing up and hit the road. My dad and my girlfriend are
participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon. So, yeah, I’m going to Disney
World. See you next week!

Here's a sample of some graphic
